Thank you.
It’s a simple phrase we hear and say often, but a lot of times we tend to underestimate it.
I know for myself that often it doesn’t feel enough to express my appreciation. I have a tendency to go on this whole rant about it. And many people have told me, “Just say thank you.” It’s true that it’d be a whole lot simpler. But a lot of times I feel like I should say more to express my gratefulness.
The dictionary defines it as: a polite expression used when acknowledging a gift, service, or compliment, or accepting or refusing an offer. But honestly, it goes so much deeper than that. Yes, it is a polite expression. Yet it can mean so much more. Just as body language can have an impact, so can the phrase ‘thank you.’ Just by the way we say it, the emotions we express while saying it, can fill in the gaps that no other words would suffice to do. And a lot of times we forget to say it at all.
In short, don’t forget the impact that little phrase can have. It shows your caring and appreciation to other people and it can make their day.
Thank you for reading this late night rant, 😉 and have a great weekend!
