Mid-June 2018. I had a brief, vivid dream that I texted my friend about the next morning, and she said I should turn it into a story.
November, 2018, I took that story idea and wrote it into a novel, Between Two Worlds, during my first NaNoWriMo.
February, 2019, I was accepted into the Wattpairs mentorship program and spent the next couple of months editing my novel. (And losing my sanity at the same time.)
End of March, 2019, a friend asked me whether all the stress was worth it; I was unable to answer.
May, 2019, the mentorship program ended and I was unsatisfied with where my book was at.
Summer of 2019, a couple of friends from Wattpad beta-read my book.
September 2019 to the beginning of February 2020, I edited my book and prepared for querying.
January, 30th, 2020, I began querying my novel.
April 4th, 2020, I received my first full request and then a publishing offer that I had to turn down.
July, 2020, I received a publishing offer from New Degree Press and signed with them, preparing to launch my preorder campaign in November.
December, 2020, halfway my campaign, I decided that self-publishing was the best route for me and I broke off with New Degree Press with no hard feelings on either end.
January 15th, 2021, I sent my manuscript off to my line-editor.
January 20th, 2021, my preorder campaign ended.
February, 2021, I sent off information to my cover designer.
March 15th, 2021, I got my line edits back and had cover reveal day.
April 9th, 2021, copy edits were finished.
April 19th, 2021, I sent my manuscript off to my formatter.
April 27th, 2021, the birthday of the main character in Between Two Worlds, I become a published author.
Thank you to all of you for supporting me on this publishing journey. I wouldn’t have made it far without your encouragement and support for me and my debut. ❤ The blurb and Amazon purchase links are below! I hope you enjoy this tale of ancient Rome and I’d love to hear your thoughts on it. ^_^
Enid hates the Romans who enslaved her. Broken-hearted over the life she lost in Britain, she vows to bury her name and her past where the Redcrests can never reach it. As years of servitude pass, bitter resignation replaces her longing to return home.
Then an unlikely friendship with a fellow outcast raises Enid out of her isolation, bringing both hope for the future and questions about the confusing God of the Christiani. Yet memories of her childhood haunt her, urging her to cling to her old identity, while the barriers of Roman society remain in the way of her deepest dreams. The peace she thought she made with the past is crumbling.
But time is running out for Enid and those she loves. Danger threatens the household she serves as persecution stalks her few friends. She must decide if risking it all for the one she loves is worth giving up the world she knows.
Even if it is a choice between life and death.
